A message from Lucas Patchett, Orange Sky Co-founder

This month I’ve been involved in Bicycle Queensland’s Pedal Queensland event and I’ve really enjoyed the challenge.

I set myself a goal to ride 300km during August and have been hitting the road most Fridays, however a few mechanical issues have impacted my goal. For me, riding not only has great physical and mental health benefits, but it’s also a social opportunity to connect with my mates to make sure everyone is doing okay.

I’m really excited to ride with the rest of the state this Sunday 30th August as part of Queensland’s Biggest Ride Day.

Orange Sky is incredibly lucky to have great partners like Bicycle Queensland to promote and raise funds to keep our laundry and shower vans on the road and supporting Queenslanders experiencing homelessness.

I’d like to thank everyone across Queensland who has donated and raised funds for Orange Sky during the challenge. Your support means we’re able to provide clean clothes, warm showers and genuine connection for people doing it tough in Cairns, Townsville, Mackay, the Sunshine Coast, the Gold Coast, Brisbane and Ipswich.
